Ollie Ollie Oxen Free

What does hiding get you?

We all do it or have done it in our life times. We hide or have hidden behind fears, old wounds, our past, false expectations (our own and others), perceptions…and why? Because hiding behind some thing that may be uncomfortable actually feels safe and familiar.

As a child did you ever play “Hide-And-Seek”? If you did then you probably remember picking a hiding space that was rather concealed from others. That was the whole point to be concealed and hard to find.

Well, when we hide from challenges, from our dreams, from potential risks (the good ones, that is), that is what we are doing, we are concealing ourselves…not only from others, but from life, and our authentic selves. Life is passing us by and opportunities are floating adrift.

So let me ask you again, what does hiding get you? Do you have more to lose or to gain by not hiding? My wish for you is to think about those questions, to think long and hard about them.

Yes, putting yourself out there may feel risky and even scary, but in doing so you become available to potentials. Potentials to gain what you want, to learn, to grow… potentials that would not have presented themselves because you were hiding and they could not find you

Ollie ollie oxen free…you can come out now. Take the chance, step out from that hiding place, take that challenge, because YOU have more to gain by no longer hiding than you do to lose.

Until next time, please be well…

Pam! Thank you for permission to come out and play!!! I totally relate to your post, in fact I felt like you were inside my head. Recently I have had a case of the "who do you think you are's" and have been a bit shy and introverted (which you know isn't ME!). Your post was just another little tap on my shoulder to step up, step out and step on it! Mucho lovo,
Kam:)

Hey Pam,
I have a question. How much do affirmations work? I have been doing affirmations for a while and I'm wondering the success rate of them actually becoming a reality?

Hey J.!

Great to hear from you and great question -- thank you!

Affirmations serve as a way to shift energy and help us to handle our own self-doubt and fear. What I have found is that affirmations serve as a reminder of what is important to us. However, in order for them to become a reality, it is important to believe that what we want is possible, to get very clear on what is needed to make our wants a reality and then to take action.

While I do not have a statistic to share with you regarding success rates, I can say that I have known people (including myself) who have had great success with affirmations.

To share a personal example, I used to be scared to death to speak in public. I would stumble all over myself until one day I developed an affirmation to say prior to public speaking. The affirmation I created was something that I truly believed and in saying it over and over I gained the confidence I needed to speak in front of others. My words flowed and I did not stumble all over myself. :)

I do hope this helps to answer your question. Again, thank you so much for asking.

Do take care...

Pam
