Technical Tolerations Be GONE!
As many of you know, I am all about removing tolerations; those things that begin to way you down, take up space, become mind clutter. Tolerations are a pain in the posterior, plain and simple…particularly computer related tolerations.
Since I have already written about how to remove tolerations I promise this post is not going to be a rehash. However, I would like to offer all of you a fantastic potential solution for your technical woes. Dear friend and fellow blogger, Phil Gerbyshak shares a great way for YOU to gain free technical support for the next few weeks. Check out what’s on offer – the time to remove your technical tolerations is certainly now!!

Time Away, But Not Forever
As many of you know yesterday we celebrated Thanksgiving Day (in the States); a day where many of us gather with family and friends and reflect on what we are most thankful for. I too reflected, but not solely on what I was most thankful for.
You see I have hit of a rough patch and in doing so I have realized something rather huge and a bit scary. The realization being that I’ve been hiding my vulnerable side a bit too much; the side that makes me human. I am not without faults. I am not without fears. However, I have been afraid to share those things fully, as I was afraid that people would not see me as a capable coach and friend if I did. Sadly, I have being doing my clients, my friends, and myself a HUGE disservice.
With that said, I am going to take a little break from posting on Make the Most of U. Instead, I am going to be posting a bit more on Walking My Own Walk. I hope you will join me as I share more of me; my vulnerable side and my fears. I hope that in my sharing, you will also feel compelled to do the same.
I wish to thank you all for being here and look forward to connecting with you on Walking My Own Walk and back here on Make the Most of U (in December).
Much love and many blessings for now and until mid-December.

It Doesn’t Take Tights and a Cape to Be a Hero
When I was a little girl I thought that a hero was someone who saved the world; that fictional character that came to life on TV every Saturday morning. As I have grown older and matured some, I have come to realize that a true hero is not someone who comes out of a phone booth in a cool costume. Nor is it someone that can “leap tall buildings in a single bound”, has super cool powers, or carries a car to safety.
A true hero is;
The mom and/or dad that creates a loving home, runs the errands, goes to every one of their child’s sporting events or musical concerts, and keeps everything in balance.
The friend who offers a shoulder to lean on during difficult moments.
The person who puts aside their own agenda to support another in creating greatness.
The man or woman who can see the positives in the most trying of people or circumstances.
The individual who shares love unconditionally.
The person who is not afraid to take a risk, even if that risk is a bit scary.
The person who gives, just for the sake of giving without any expectation of receiving.
The individual who is not afraid to discover their own areas of improvement and is dedicated to becoming the best they can be.
The person who is willing to take a stand for what is right.
The man or woman who has heart.
Here is the challenge; when you are feeling at your lowest or feeling that something is impossible (or even when you are having the very best day) take a look in the mirror, my friends, and you too will see a hero. Then take a moment to acknowledge your awesome hero qualities, the big ones and the small ones. I can promise you this; there is not one person on this planet that doesn’t deserve hero status.
To all the heroes in the world; thank you for making a difference.

Random Thoughts and a Day to Celebrate
As I was deleting the massive amounts of spam that comes into my inboxes daily, I had a thought… spam and fear have a few things in common.
They can both be annoying.
They can waste time.
They can stand in the way of getting to the good stuff.
They can serve as a motivator to spur change.
So what if you were to think of fear as a piece of spam? Rather than read it, (falling prey to the falsehood of the message) why not filter it with a truthful message? For example, (in line with last week’s post) “I am not enough” could be filtered with the message “I am more than enough”. Give it a whirl and let me know how it works for you.
On a personal note
Thirteen years ago today a special person entered my life. It was thirteen years ago today that a wonderful bundle of joy was placed in my arms for the very first time. That day was most certainly one of the proudest, most blessed days of my life.
I can honestly say that I consider myself one the luckiest mothers on the face of the planet. I am so grateful to have a son who is bright, compassionate, intuitive, insightful, fun, loving, kind-hearted, talented and just a true gift of a human being. I have learned so much from him.
I have learned…
…that love runs deeper than one can possibly begin to imagine.
…that children are our truest mirrors so it is important to always be the best person possible.
…that hugs are the most wonderful cure-alls.
…to explore life with the eyes of a child.
and so much more.
Thank you, my amazing son for all that you have given this world and for all that you have given me just with your presence – thank you for being you!!
Happy Birthday, Sweetie! I love you oodles and oodles!

Senseless Acts of Violence
As people try to get their heads around the tragedy that took place at VA Tech yesterday please take some time today...
...to hug your child/children very close.
...show a loved one just how much you care.
...express gratitude to a friend for being a friend.
...share some kindness with a perfect stranger because the world could certainly use a little kindness.
Please be well and safe.

Successful Secrets...What are Yours?
Many thanks to Lyman from Creating A Better Life for including me in this fun successful habits/secrets exercise. (Which, by the way, was started by Aaron of Today is that Day.)
I am a firm believer that positive habits truly do support us in being the best we can be. With that in mind,(and in the spirit of this exercise) here are just a few of my successful habits/secrets....
1- I practice an attitude of gratitude EVERY DAY, once in the morning and once in the evening. You know what? Starting my day and ending my day writing down or saying at least five things that I am most grateful for helps me to stay positive and full of energy. This in turn allows me to become more aware of great potential opportunities.
2- I exercise 4-5 days a week. Exercising not only helps me to get in shape and stay in shape, but it helps me to focus. Focus on my work, focus on my loved ones, focus on the good stuff.
3- I drink plenty of water. Eight glasses a day. Staying hydrated helps me to think better, not to mention it is great for the skin. :)
4- I get at least eight hours of sleep. Without proper sleep, not only can I become a grouch, but I run out of energy far too early in the day. That is not a good thing!
5- I learn. I am what I would consider a student of life. I try and learn something from every situation...the good, the bad, and the ugly. By looking for the lesson I have been able to create quite an extensive "learning" tool box full of great tools to use over and over.
OK, so Jon, Matthew, Jodee, Steve, and Desiree what are your successful habits/secrets that you practice at least 4-5 days a week?

The Secret: Truth or Hype?
(Warning: This is just my opinion regarding a topic that is important to me so I apologize in advance if it offends anyone, as that is not the intention.)
There has been a lot of talk lately about The Secret since Oprah featured it recently on her show. While some of the talk is supportive of the message contained in the movie and some is of disbelief and hype, I am personally glad that people are talking regardless of what is being said.
I will admit that I found The Secret to have placed a bit more of a materialistic slant on The Law of Attraction
however, it got people thinking. In my humble opinion, it is never a bad thing when people consider or debate the ways to improve life on an individual level and/or a global level.
My dear friends, the bottom line is this...The Law of Attraction has been around FOREVER. We have all experienced it...maybe some more frequently than others. Regardless of the wrapper it is placed in, regardless of how the message is dressed, one thing is clear... focusing on the positive rather than the negative a) makes you feel good and b) supports you in taking positive action.
(Positive thoughts + positive feelings/empowering feelings + positive actions = forward movement/results)
With that I will get off my soapbox (before I fall off and break an ankle) and leave you with this to ponder...if there is an area of your life that is not as you would like it to be, what would happen if you focused on the positives embodied in that area rather than the negatives?
Until next time, please be well and keep talking...

I Acknowledge You
Do you remember the last time someone acknowledged you for something you did? What did that feel like? Did it boost your confidence or make you feel warm and fuzzy inside?
How about a time when someone acknowledged something they did that was not all too savory? Did that clear the air and help both of you to move forward?
Whether we are acknowledging someone else, acknowledging ourselves, or acknowledging an action taken, acknowledgements are powerful…they are freeing…they are uplifting…they are motivating…they express care.
At this time I would like to acknowledge a dear, sweet soul, Jon Nix, who has made it easy and fun to publicly acknowledge anyone any where. (Thank you, Jon!) When you have some time, please check out I Acknowledge You. Give it a spin, test it out, make someone's day, make your own day by sharing an acknowledgement of any kind to anyone.
Until next time, let the acknowledgements flow and be well…

In a Moment of Gratitude
Tomorrow is the day when those in the States celebrate my favorite holiday, Thanksgiving. Regardless of whether you are in the States or in other parts of this magnificent world, my wish for you is to spend some time, even if it is just five minutes, to express gratitude for the person that you are! For you are special and deserving of gratitude!
To all my family, friends, clients, colleagues, and blog readers...I am truly blessed and grateful for all of you!

Walking My Own Walk
I am thrilled to announce the launch of my new blog, Walking My Own Walk. The blog will not replace Make the Most of U, but will be in addition to it.As a coach it is important to me to show that not only do I "talk the talk", but I do "walk the walk". Meaning that I actually put into practice what I share here and with my own coaching clients. So, if you are interested in reading how a life and business coach actually puts her heart and mind through their paces, come have a look and as always I welcome your thoughts!

Just Had To Share
I was cruising the blogosphere while having my coffee this morning and came across Rookie Mom's blog! Poking around I found this really cool activity that I couldn't help but share! The activity calls for making a list of the 50 things you would like to do and then sharing your list with some friends.
That got my head reeling with so many potentials so for starters I would like to...
Travel across the U.S.
Donate to a favorite charity
Try one new restaurant a month
Take my son on a hot air balloon ride
What would you place on your list? Go on...it's fun!
